Seniors Services Assistance

The Tofield/Beaver County West FCSS team will assist seniors with form completion related to Federal Seniors Benefits, Alberta Seniors Benefits, seniors lodging or other seniors’ services. Our staff can assist with sending documents by fax, mail or electronic upload where available to the Government of Alberta Seniors Ministry or to the Federal Government. Please contact the office at 780-662-7067 to learn more.

In Touch Check in and Chat Program

Individuals can register with our office by calling 780-662-7067 to receive a call once or twice a week (Mon–Fri 8:30AM to 4:30PM) for a check in and chat. This is not a counselling program. Instead, we aim to build relationships and reduce isolation and loneliness.

Meals on Wheels

Meals on Wheels is a service that provides nutritious, hot meals to individuals in their own homes around noon during weekdays (frozen meals are available for the weekend). An individual or couple can receive Meals on Wheels if they are unable to prepare meals due to illness, disability, surgery, broken limbs or frailty, or while adjusting to a special diet.

The meals are delivered by volunteers around noon to the individual’s home in disposable containers. Alternatively, meals can be picked up directly from the Tofield Lodge by the client. Each meal costs $8.00. Clients can cancel a meal for a day by calling the Tofield/Beaver County West FCSS office at 780-662-7067 by 10:00AM that day. The client will still be billed for any unwanted meals if they have not been cancelled.

How do I pay for the meals?

The TBW FCSS office keeps track of all meals provided in a month. At the end of the month, a statement is mailed to the client. Payments can be made in person or by mail as follows:
