General Family Counselling
We offer professional, confidential, short-term counselling for individuals, couples and families. Our counsellor provides counselling for those seeking assistance with emotional and relationship problems including marital issues, family conflict, aggression, anger, loss, stress, trauma or to support personal development.
Our counselling sessions are delivered by Charlene Irvine, BA, M.SC, CCC.
Counselling fees are $35 per session. Please contact the Tofield/Ryley/Beaver West FCSS office at 780-662-7067 to book an appointment.
We are currently in the process of launching a home help support program designed to offer seniors, the disabled, or individuals who fall ill assistance with light housekeeping services including:
- Tidying Kitchens, Living Rooms and Washrooms
- Dish Washing
- Washing Floors
Fees are charged on a sliding scale based on income levels. Income verification is a requirement based on line 236 of an individuals tax return. A mileage charge of .50 per km will be charged for residents requiring services outside of the Village of Ryley or Town of Tofield.

Meals on Wheels
What is Meals on Wheels?
Meals on Wheels is a service that provides and delivers nutritious, hot meals to individuals in their own homes at noon, up to 5 days a week (frozen meals are available for the weekend).
Who can receive Meals on Wheels?
An individual or couple can receive Meals on Wheels if they are unable to prepare meals due to illness, disability, surgery, broken limbs or frailty, or while adjusting to a special diet.
How do I receive Meals on Wheels?
The meals are delivered by volunteers to the individual’s home in disposable containers. Alternatively, meals can be picked up directly from the Tofield Lodge by the client.
What if I decide to go out at noon?
Clients can cancel a meal for a day by calling the Tofield/Ryley/Beaver County West FCSS office at 780-662-7067 by 10:00 am that day. The client will still be billed for any unwanted meals if they have not been canceled.
How much does it cost?
Each meal is provided at a cost of $7.00.
How do I pay for the meals?
The FCSS office keeps track of all meals provided in a month. At the end of the month, a statement is mailed to the client. Payments can be made at/to:

What if I require a special diet?
Meals for special dietary needs (allergies, diabetes) can be prepared.
How do I get started?
Call the Tofield/Ryley/Beaver County West FCSS office at 780-662-7067. A member of the staff will assist you in joining the Meals on Wheels program and will answer any questions and/or provide additional information.

- Frozen meals will be delivered on Fridays for the weekend if required
- A week’s worth of frozen meals can be delivered in rural areas (1 week notice required for this service)
Volunteer Income Tax Program
Revenue Canada partners with agencies to train volunteers so that agencies like Tofield/Ryley/Beaver County West FCSS may offer FREE Tax Preparation Services to help low-income individuals and families file their tax returns. Tax information can be dropped off at the FCSS and we will arrange for volunteers to prepare income tax and benefit returns for those eligible.
